Atlantic Theater Company Announces Casting for the World Premiere of Sunday
Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) has announced the casting for the world premiere production of Sunday by Tony Award winner Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and directed by Obie Award winner Lee Sunday Evans (Dance Nation).
Sunday will feature Juliana Canfield (The House That Will Not Stand), Ruby Frankel (Off-Broadway Debut; NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Atlantic Acting School 2017), Maurice Jones (Lifespan of a Fact), Zane Pais (Dead Poets Society), Sadie Scott (“Sweetbitter”), and Christian Strange (Off-Broadway Debut).
Sunday begins previews Wednesday, September 4th and will open Monday, September 23rd for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 13th, 2019 Off-Broadway at the Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street).
There is a moment when you want to look ahead to the future, but the past is eating you whole. In Sunday, friends gather for a book group, anxious to prove their intellectual worth, but that anxiety gets the better of any actual discussion as emotional truths come pouring out.
Sunday will feature scenic design by Brett J. Banakis, costume design by Ntokozo Fuzunina Kunene, lighting design by Masha Tsimring, sound design by Lee Kinney, original compositions by Daniel Kluger, and casting by Telsey + Company: Will Cantler, CSA; Karyn Casl, CSA.
Sunday was commissioned by Atlantic Theater Company with the generous support of Jean Doumanian Productions.
