Sabine Chalmers and Simon Warshaw appointed to the Board of the National Theatre

Sir Damon Buffini, Chair of the Board of the National Theatre, announced today that Sabine Chalmers and Simon Warshaw have been appointed to the Board.

Damon Buffini said: “I am delighted to welcome two outstanding leaders in their fields to the National Theatre Board. Sabine Chalmers is one of the world’s most high-profile corporate lawyers. Her professional experience, combined with her commitment to theatre and progressive social change will make her an enormous asset to the National Theatre. We are very much looking forward to working with her.

Simon Warshaw has been a member of the National Theatre’s Corporate Advisory Board since 2013 where his outstanding experience in the financial sector has been of huge benefit to the NT. He will also become Chair of the Corporate Advisory Board. We are delighted he will be able to make an even greater contribution to the NT.

Sabine has over 25 years of international business, legal and external affairs experience. She began her career in London at the law firm of Lovell White Durrant and subsequently held increasingly senior roles at Diageo plc and Anheuser-Busch InBev, where she is currently Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary.

An American citizen of Indian and German origin, Sabine has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the Americas. She holds an LL.B from the London School of Economics and is qualified to practice law in England and New York.

Simon began his career at S.G. Warburg in 1986 in London. Over 27 years at UBS, he led the firm’s Media, UK, European and Global Investment Banking businesses.  Simon co-founded the advisory firm, Robey Warshaw LLP, with Simon Robey in 2013. Simon was educated at Christ Church, Oxford where he read Engineering Science.

Simon became a member of the Corporate Advisory Board of the National Theatre in 2013. Simon’s wife, Charlotte, currently sits on the Development Council and they are both Olivier Circle supporters.
