Joining the previously announced Carrie Hope Fletcher as Veronica Sawyer, are the most popular girls in school: Jodie Steele (Chandler)Sophie Isaacs (McNamara) and T’Shan Williams (Duke) – The Heathers, with Jamie Muscato playing the mysterious teen rebel Jason Dean (JD).

They will be joined by: Chris Chung (Kurt Kelly). Dominic Anderson (Ram Sweeney), Jenny O’Leary (Martha Dunnstock) and Rebecca Lock (Mrs Flemming).

Final casting will be announced in due course.

To celebrate the new classmates, an additional 2 50 tickets have been released with new seats available at all price bands.

Heathers – The Musical, the record breaking and most anticipated UK premiere this year, is opening at The Other Palace for a strictly limited run from 9 June to 4 August 2018.

The award-winning writing team, Laurence O’Keefe (Legally Blonde, Bat Boy) and Kevin Murphy’s (Reefer MadnessDesperate Housewives), hit musical adaptation has enjoyed successful runs in Los Angeles and New York, and finally arrives in the UK for its European Premiere.

After a triumphant run at The Other Palace at the beginning of the year, Warwick Davis and Kevin Wood have announced the return of the original British musical EUGENIUS! at The Other Palace from 1 September to 7 October. Further details and casting to be announced.

After rave audience responses and huge public demand – particularly on social media – the producers are delighted that the show will return to its home, The Other Palace for another run.

Warwick Davis said ‘The clamouring for Eugenius! to return has been so great, it can be heard in another galaxy! We have listened and brought it back. If you missed it last time, this is your chance to see what the buzz is all about. And for our Super Fans out there, we’ll be adding dedicated Sundayperformances – exclusively for you! The show returns with our amazing creative team and of course the 80s inspired soundtrack which had audiences on their feet every evening’.

Written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins, “EUGENIUS!  tells the story of Eugene, a teenage boy whose nightly dreams of a distant world of heroes and villains may just be the ticket to him creating his very own comic book movie in Hollywood.  Joined by his best friends ‘Janey’ and ‘Feris’, our comic writing genius must discover the true meaning of growing up, finding the superhero within, saving the world from both earthbound villains and possibly those from distant galaxies, and along the way, falling in love. The production will continue to play all of the iconic songs including, Go Eugenius!, Comic Book Kind Of Love, Don’t Shoot for the Stars, Future is Bright and Hollywood.

The book, music and lyrics for ‘EUGENIUS! are written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins. Award winning Ian Talbot will direct. Ian was previously the Artistic Director at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre for 20 years, for which he received an OBE. He has directed ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ and ‘Lend Me A Tenor’. The creative team is completed by Aaron Renfree who will choreograph, sound design by Gareth Owen, lighting by Andrew Ellis, musical supervision by Stuart Morley and musical direction by Darren Lord. Set and costume design will be by Hannah Wolfe and the show’s design features specially commissioned comic book artwork by Marvel artist, Simon Williams (Transformers, Spider Man, Marvel Heroes, The lncredible Hulk).

The European premiere of HEATHERS – THE MUSICAL smashed The Other Palace box office records when it went on sale last week becoming the biggest on-sale in the history of The Other Palace. The musical premieres at The Other Palace on 9 June and runs for a limited 8-week season.

Due to the phenomenal demand, an additional performance and 1,000 extra seats are being released at 10am on Friday 20 April across all price bands, starting from £25. Following on from its successful Edinburgh Fringe Festival run, the musical Suicide is set to receive its West End premiere in a newly reworked and expanded version that transfers to the Studio at London’s The Other Palace on 17th and 18th May.  It has been written, composed and produced by London-born Robert S J Lucas, and directed by Michael Davies for Disclosure Group.

John is a typical man, with a typical job, living his very typical life, but when things start to take a turn for the worse John isn’t sure what to do. Can he continue with a life of deja vu and disappointment or is the only option to end it all once and for all?

 Suicide’ is a roller coaster of emotions guaranteed to make you think about the very real modern issue of male suicide, that will have you laughing, crying and counting your lemons.

 The young cast features Harlie Sutherland as John, Calum Sivyer as Dark Conscience,  Sherwood Alexander as Light Conscience.

Warwick Davis and Kevin Wood have announced the full cast for the hotly anticipated new musical for years, “EUGENIUS!” which is coming to London for a strictly limited run at The Other Palace from 22 January until the 3 March 2018.

Making his London theatre debut is American born Liam Forde who will play the lead role of ‘Eugene’. Liam has performed in many shows across America and is looking forward to making his debut across the pond. Joining Liam is Laura Baldwin who will play Eugene’s love interest- ‘Janey’. Laura’s previous credits include UK Tours of “Shrek” and “Betty Blue Eyes” and currently she can be seen in ‘Big Fish The Musical’ at The Other Palace.

Joining them is, Daniel Buckley (“Book Of Mormon”, “Loserville”) as Feris, Ian Hughes (“Guys and Dolls”, “The Lion King”) as Evil Lord Hector, Scott Paige(“The Addams Family”, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”) as Theo, Cameron Blakely (“Les Misérables”, “The Addams Family”) as Lex, Shaun Dalton (“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, “Beauty and The Beast” and “Les Misérables”) as Gerhard, Melissa James (“Bodyguard” UK Tour) as Carrie,Alexander Evans (UK Tour of “Sound of Music”, “Carousel”)as Eugene’s Dad and Alison Arnopp (“Dusty”, “The Tempest”) as Space Diva/Mrs T.

Robert Mackintosh in association with The Other Palace have announced a ‘Work in Progress’ production of Alain Boublil’s MANHATTAN PARISIENNE. The show will have public sharings in The Studio at The Other Palace between Tuesday 10 and Saturday 21 October 2017. Schedule below.

Alain Boublil said today “Robert Mackintosh invited me to visit the theatre one day last year. I was amazed to discover how perfect a setting The Studio was for Manhattan Parisienne. Exactly what I’d dreamed of. I mentioned to Robert how much I’d love to do the show there and gave him a copy of the play. He also gave a copy to Paul Taylor Mills, who liked it too. I am beyond thrilled that things have come together now so that Robert and The Other Palace, along with myself, can present a new development of the show”.

MANHATTAN PARISIENNE is a New York story of differences and attraction, of two struggling artists and an unlikely meeting of minds.  She is a French actress/singer.  He is a Manhattan musician who has a history with Paris.  Connected by music, they embark on a surreal journey through New York.  MANHATTAN PARISIENNE features excerpts of songs from the classic French and American songbooks by songwriters including Jacques Brel, George and Ira Gershwin, Michel Legrand, Cole Porter and Charles Aznavour.  The play, by Alain Boublil, made its debut at 59E59 theaters in New York. Marie Zamora, who played Eve, is to reprise the role here.

The Other Palace Announces Concert-Style Workshops of STARLIGHT EXPRESS

The Other Palace has announced three concert-style workshop performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical STARLIGHT EXPRESS, in The Theatre at The Other Palace on Thursday 14 , Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September at 7.30pm. All tickets are priced £25 and go on sale at 12.00noon on Friday 11 August. Tickets are only available from The Other Palace Box Office, online at theotherpalace.co.uk or by calling 020 7087 7900.

Members of the original creative team of STARLIGHT EXPRESS will collaborate again, along with a group of carefully chosen actors and musicians to explore the piece. Focussing on the score and lyrics, and working for a week before the public showings, Andrew and the team will continue to work on the show in the daytime before evening performances, responding to audience reaction and feedback as they navigate the exciting process of revisiting this classic work.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS originally opened in the West End in 1984 where it ran for over 7000 performances, and continues to run in a purpose built venue in Bochum, Germany where more than 15 million people have seen it. The Bochum production celebrates its 30th anniversary next year.

The Other Palace opened in February 2017 as a new home for musical theatre. The Other Palace workshops are a great way to utilise what The Other Palace is all about; a place to discover, develop, explore and reimagine work, whether that be new or existing and established pieces.

The Other Palace has announced two ‘Work in Progress’ productions, first discovered during Pitch Days held on 24 May 2017.  SPILT MILK and EVER ONWARD will have public sharings on Friday 11 August and Friday 24 Novemberrespectively.

This is at the heart of what we want to achieve at The Other Palace and I’m looking forward to working with the teams behind these two new projects.”

Pitch Days at The Other Palace offer artists and creative teams the chance to show 20 minutes of their work to Artistic Director Paul Taylor Mills and The Other Palace programming team. These days are aimed at people who prefer to share their work ‘live’. The panel then make recommendations about how best to move the project forward, and are delighted to be bringing SPILT MILK and EVER ONWARD to The Other Palace for ‘Work in Progress’ performances to further their development.

SPILT MILK is a new musical featuring an original indie-pop-rock score, inspired by the Cereal Killer Café and the 2015 Shoreditch riots, featuring book and lyrics by Jacob Dorrell and Tom Ling, music by Adam Dickinson and Jennifer Hague.SPILT MILK explores the themes of community, acceptance and belonging in an ever-gentrified East London.

SPILT MILK will be performed at The Other Palace on Friday 11 August 2017 at 10.30am.

EVER ONWARD is inspired by Sutton Vane’s play “Outward Bound” with a book by Susannah Pearse and music and lyrics from Tim Connor.  Set in the Autumn of 1925 as Britain mourns loved ones lost in the First World War, a luxury cruise ship sets sail. But why are there only five passengers on board? And where are they heading?

EVER ONWARD will be performed at The Other Palace on Friday 24 November 2017 at 2.00pm.

General Submissions: For artistic teams that have creative visions to share, they should submit ideas to The Other Palace’s programming team, providing a short synopsis, information about the journey of the piece to date and two contrasting songs.  The team will review submissions on a regular basis, shortlisting the most promising, and then guiding the creative teams into the most relevant step of the Development Programme, from Pitch Days to Works in Progress.  More information about how to submit can be found on the website www.theotherpalace.co.uk/submissions.

Kelsey Grammer will star as ‘Edward Bloom’ in a new production of John August and Andrew Lippa’s BIG FISH THE MUSICAL. Based on the novel BIG FISH by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia Pictures film screenplay by John August, this new production will be the London premiere of the musical and also marks Kelsey’s first time on the London stage.

Directed by Nigel HarmanBIG FISH THE MUSICAL will play at The Other Palace from Wednesday 1 November 2017 – Sunday 31 December 2017, with a Press Night on Tuesday 7 November and a Gala Night on Wednesday 8 NovemberTickets on sale 31 July 2017.

The Other Palace opened in February 2017 as a home for musical theatre. Discovering, developing and reimagining musicals is at the heart of what The Other Palace is about. The spaces are used to nurture the next generation of musicals, and the creatives behind them; celebrating the very best of the art form, from the established to the brand new.

Kelsey Grammer played the role of Dr. Frasier Crane in the NBC sitcoms “Cheers” and “Frasier” for which he has won five Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe awards. In 2010 Kelsey made his Broadway musical debut playing the lead role of ‘Georges’ in “La Cage Aux Folles”, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. He also originated the roles of ‘Charles Frohman’ and ‘Captain Hook’ in the Broadway premiere of the musical “Finding Neverland”.

BIG FISH THE MUSICAL will be directed by Nigel Harman, director of the upcoming tour of “Shrek The Musical” and perhaps better known to audiences for his stage and TV work as an actor. Nigel first met with writers John and Andrew in 2016 and the vision and creativity they shared for this new version was evident.  Nigel said When I first encountered the piece I was struck by its depth of humanity and it’s zest for life.  A story that celebrates life in all of its wonders and despairs. A simple tale told in the most extraordinary way. It has been wonderful to revisit the music, book and lyrics with John and Andrew”

Joining Kelsey Grammer will be Matt Seadon-Young (Les Misérables, Beautiful, Pride) as ‘Will Bloom’, Frances McNamee (Little Shop of Horrors) as ‘Josephine Bloom’, Forbes Masson (Travesties, Dr.Faustus) as ‘Amos/Don’, Jamie Muscato (Lazarus, Bend it Like Beckham)as ‘Edward’, Laura Baldwin (Shrek, Alice in Wonderland) as ‘Sandra’,  Landi Oshinowo (Shrek, Sister Act) as ‘Witch/Jenny Hill’, Dean Nolan (Fiddler on the Roof) as ‘Karl’, and George Ure (Sweeney Todd, Wicked) as ‘Zaki’. They are joined by Sophie Linder-Lee (The Rocky Horror Show, Wicked), Gemma McMeel (Titanic and Candide) and Jonathan Stewart (Guys and Dolls).

Blending fairy-tale, romance and adventure it celebrates the true meaning of life, and reminds us that the love for our family and friends will live on within them, long after we have gone.

Adapted from the much-loved book by Daniel Wallace and Tim Burton movie, BIG FISH THE MUSICAL has a beautiful score by Tony nominee Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family, The Wild Party) and a new book by John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

BIG FISH THE MUSICAL will be presented at The Other Palace by Big Fish Productions, Selladoor Worldwide and Baiyue Culture Creative with associate producers Dominic May and Underbelly Productions.
